Joker Double 27

Joker Double 27 Overview

Joker Double 27 is a fruit slot from the Czech studio Apollo Games, released on 25 September 2023. Apollo describes it as a 4-reel slot with 54 winning lines, where “the wins are paid both ways”. The grid is four reels by three rows, and the number 27 printed on both sides of it explains the name: 27 lines read from the left and the same 27 read from the right. There is a Bonus symbol that awards free spins, and a masked joker lady watches the reels from behind the frame.

Apollo does not publish an RTP, volatility rating or maximum win for this title – the official game page leaves all three fields empty – and SlotCatalog lists them as N/A as well. What we can show is how the game actually pays, from our own spins.

Paid Both Ways

The “27” arrows on the left and right edges of the grid are the key to the game. A winning combination can start on the leftmost reel and run to the right, or start on the rightmost reel and run to the left. On a four-reel grid that makes a real difference: a full column of cherries on the fourth reel, which would be dead weight in a normal slot, can start a right-to-left win on its own. Apollo shows the direction of each win with an animated glow above the reels.

Where the 27 Comes From

The number fits the grid neatly. Three reels of three rows give exactly 27 different paths – 3 x 3 x 3 – the same count as the lines marked on each side of the grid. Read from the left, the lines start on the first reel; read from the right, they start on the fourth. Together they make the 54 lines Apollo quotes. The practical effect is that almost any three matching symbols on adjacent reels form a line, which is why even a compact 4x3 grid produces frequent small wins.

Reading the Win Meter

The bottom bar has three boxes: credit on the left, winning in the middle and bet on the right. The middle box shows the total for the current spin or feature, while the number flashing on the reels is the part being counted at that moment. That is why a $400 line can sit on the grid while the meter below reads $6,100 – the meter holds everything the round has paid so far. At a $50 stake, every $50 on the meter is one bet back.

Symbols

The symbol set is classic: red sevens, golden bells, watermelons, oranges, lemons, plums, grapes and cherries, plus a WILD in a blue fire ring and a gold BONUS plate. Fruit symbols in winning positions light up – in our screenshots some wins glowed with orange flames, others with a frosty blue outline, matching the orange left side and blue right side of the frame.

What Our Spins Paid

We played at a $50 stake, and the winning box under the reels makes the results easy to check:

• three golden bells in the middle row: $1,000 – 20x the bet
• grapes across the top and middle rows: $300 – 6x
• a line completed by two WILDs: $200 – 4x

The bell win shows how heavily the premium symbols pay on this compact grid: a single line of three bells was worth twenty stakes.

Free Spins

BONUS symbols trigger the feature, and the award screen is simple: “Congratulations! You have won 10 free spins”. One of our spins with three BONUS plates on the first, second and fourth reels, next to two WILDs, showed a $600 win on the grid; another spin with two BONUS plates and two WILDs paid $200.

The free spins play on the same grid with the same both-ways rule. In one round, with 5 free spins still to go, a WILD on the top row helped a $400 line and the winning meter stood at $6,100 – 122 times the $50 stake. Another screen showed a BIG WIN banner of $3,500, 70 times the stake.

Bet and Controls

The control bar is minimal: credit, winning and bet at the bottom, and a column of round buttons on the right with the spin button, a card icon for the gamble and a checkmark for collect. The card icon appears after wins, which suggests a classic card gamble on winnings; our screenshots do not show the gamble itself, so we do not describe how it plays.

How It Compares

Apollo builds most of its catalogue for land-based and Czech online markets, and it shows here: the game is fast, readable and built around a single idea. A sister title called Joker Double 81 also exists in Apollo’s catalogue. If you prefer long bonus chains and buy features, this is not that kind of game – it is a fruit machine with a clever payline rule.

Graphics and Sound

The frame is dark red and blue, split down the middle like the joker’s mask, and the background is a pop-art mix of yellow dots on the left and blue diamonds on the right. The fruit is drawn in a glossy, modern style, and the joker lady behind the reels holds a glowing orb in each hand.

Who It Is For

Joker Double 27 suits players who like classic fruit slots but want something a little different from the usual left-to-right rule. Wins in both directions, a straightforward 10-spin bonus and a clean screen make it an easy game to pick up. Since Apollo publishes no RTP, volatility or maximum win, the free demo is the best way to judge whether its pace suits you.
