Payday In An Open-Plan Office

The reels stand in a beige cubicle farm – partition walls, monitors glowing on desks, motivational posters on the back wall, a coffee mug on a filing cabinet. A hunched clerk sits at a desk to the left of the frame and a second one to the right, both apparently unaware that money is falling out of the ceiling.

The cast is the joke: a moustached boss clutching fistfuls of banknotes, a delighted young man in a purple shirt, a woman in glasses cheering, a wallet stuffed with credit cards, a pink piggy bank, a green cocktail, a packet of cash and an ID badge. A stone-grey block carries the WILD label, and an EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH plaque turns up as a special. An ATM sits above the reels between the jackpot plaques.

The Paytable Is Per Way, Not Per Spin

This is the thing to understand before the numbers make sense. At the €10.00 bet our session ran at, for five, four and three of a kind:

Five of the top symbol paying 4.00 against a 10.00 stake looks absurd until you remember the format: those are per-way figures, and there are 243 ways. A board carrying the same symbol on every reel is paying that 4.00 many times over.

Our best base-game screen bears it out. A near-full board of the purple-shirted clerk – three of him on four reels – returned €97.20, or 9.7x the stake, from per-way values that never exceed 4.00.

Eight Symbols, Four Tiers

Look down the table and the pairs are obvious. The boss and the purple shirt are identical at 4.00. The woman and the wallet are identical at 3.60. The piggy bank and the cocktail are identical at 3.20. The two cheapest symbols pay from two of a kind at 0.40.

So eight symbols occupy four ranks, and the whole premium range spans 4.00 down to 3.20 – a difference of a quarter. In practice the only distinction that matters is whether the board is showing a person, an object, or the two bottom symbols.

Six Jackpots, And The Grand Is The Ceiling

The plaques run in two groups of three either side of the ATM. At our €10 bet:

The Grand at 10,000x is the published maximum win – nothing on the reels or in the coin round can beat it. And the gap between it and the Super is a factor of twenty-five, where the four rungs below the Super are only within three times of each other.

That is worth reading carefully. Mini, Minor, Major and Maxi are ordinary session results, between 15x and 100x. The Super at 400x is a genuinely good day. The Grand is the entire rest of the game.

The Unlock Round

The coin feature is where Betsoft has put the design effort, and it does something we do not see often: parts of the board start locked, with the price of opening them printed across them.

Our round showed three separate messages on three separate areas: “11 OR MORE TO UNLOCK”, “26 OR MORE TO UNLOCK” and “1 OR MORE TO UNLOCK”. Collect enough coins and the grid physically grows.

Underneath sits a counter reading SPINS REMAINING 1 2 3, with a line beneath it confirming “RESPINS RESET TO 3!”. Standard hold-and-win timing, but with an expanding board rather than a fixed one – so a long round does not just add coins, it adds places for coins to land. The coins themselves carried 10.00 and 30.00, or 1x and 3x the stake.

Match Three Sticky Notes

A second feature replaces the reels entirely with a corkboard of yellow sticky notes, twelve of them, each stamped with a dollar sign. The instruction is printed above: “MATCH 3 SYMBOLS TO AWARD A BONUS PRIZE”.

It is a straightforward pick-and-match game, and on a board with six jackpot plaques the prizes it awards are presumably those plaques. Two distinct bonus rounds in one slot is generous; most games of this type make do with one.

The x2 Wild

The wild is a grey concrete slab that looks deliberately out of place among the cartoon office workers, and it can arrive carrying x2. On a 243-way grid a doubling wild multiplies every way running through its position, which on this paytable matters more than it would elsewhere – the per-way values are so flat that the multiplier is often the biggest number in the calculation. Our x2 spin returned €57.60.

95.88% At High Volatility

The return is a little below average, and the reason is spread across the top of the screen. Six jackpots and two separate bonus rounds all have to be funded, and the base paytable is what pays for them – hence eight symbols crammed into a range from 4.00 down to 1.60.
