Hot Coin Overview

Hot Coin is a retro fruit machine from KA Gaming, released on 2 November 2023. Five reels and three rows sit inside a chrome cabinet on a stage with purple velvet curtains, and 25 fixed paylines are marked down both sides of the reels. SlotCatalog lists a 96% RTP (the game comes in several RTP versions) and stakes from 0.25 to 125 per spin. The symbol set is pure classic slot: cherries, lemons, plums, bells, BAR symbols and red sevens, plus a Hot Coin wild, a scatter and the bonus coins that give the game its name.

The Symbols

The fruit symbols are drawn in a realistic, glossy style rather than as flat icons. The BAR symbol comes in a stacked, double-bordered design, and the red seven is the top regular symbol. Two special symbols carry the Hot Coin logo: the WILD, a gold coin with a small pile of fruit underneath, and the purple SCATTER. A third special symbol, the gold BONUS coin, carries a multiplier such as 1x or 2x printed on it.

The Hot Coin Feature

The bonus coins are where the game’s biggest regular wins come from. Our clearest example came at a $125 stake: four bonus coins landed at once – three showing 2x and one showing 1x. The game reported “HOT COIN FEATURE WIN $875.00”, which is exactly the sum of the coins, 7x, multiplied by the total bet. The big win screen that followed showed the same $875.00 in a gold banner with coins raining across the reels.

That arithmetic tells you how to read the coins: each multiplier on a bonus coin is a multiple of your whole stake, not of a line bet, and the coins add together. Four coins worth 7x in total turned one spin into seven bets’ worth of winnings.

The Jackpot

Above the reels a red plaque displays the JACKPOT. At the $125 stake it read $62,500, which is 500 times the bet. The amount stayed the same across all of our spins at that stake, so it behaves as a fixed prize tied to your bet rather than a progressive pool.

Line Wins in Practice

With 25 lines at $125 per spin, each line is played at $5. The win messages at the top of the screen let us check a few values:

  • Four BAR symbols on line 3, with a wild in the second position, paid $100.
  • A line of sevens completed by a wild paid $100 on line 6 and on line 23.
  • Longer lines of sevens and wilds paid $300 each, on line 13 and line 17.

Several lines often pay on the same spin: one spin paid $335 in total, another $200, and a lemon spin paid $170, with line 5 alone contributing $15.

The Wild

The Hot Coin wild does most of the heavy lifting in the base game. It substitutes for the regular symbols and appears on every reel, which is how the BAR line and most of the seven lines above were completed. When several wilds landed together, the result was the biggest spin in our session.

Our Giant Win

That spin came with three wilds stacked on the first reel and more wilds across the grid. The game called it a GIANT WIN of $2,795.00 – about 22 times the $125 stake – and the line message showed line 13 paying $300 on its own as part of the total. It was a good demonstration of how a 25-line game builds a big result: not one huge line, but many medium-sized lines paying at once.

Free Spins and Scatters

SlotCatalog lists free spins, additional free spins and a bonus game among the features, triggered by the purple scatter. Our screenshots do not show the free spin round itself, so we cannot describe how many spins it awards or what changes during it; the demo on this page is the easiest way to see it for yourself.

Stakes and Line Bets

Because all 25 lines are always active, the stake divides evenly across them. The minimum of 0.25 is one cent per line; the maximum of 125 – the stake we played at – is $5 per line. That makes it easy to translate the line wins into multiples: a $100 line is 20 times the line bet but only 0.8 times the total stake, and a $300 line is 60 times the line bet, or 2.4 times the stake. Seen that way, the $875 coin feature was worth more than any two line wins combined.

How the Session Moved

The balance readings under the reels give an idea of the rhythm. Over the spins in our screenshots it moved between roughly $99,100 and $101,400: small line wins kept it close to level, and the coin feature and the Giant Win provided the jumps. That is the typical shape of a classic 25-line slot – frequent small returns with occasional larger spins.

Graphics and Sound

Hot Coin leans fully into the Las Vegas cabinet look. The reels are framed in brushed steel, “25 LINES” is lit on both sides, and the purple stage curtains frame the whole machine. Win amounts appear in huge gold numerals across the reels, and big wins trigger a burst of spinning gold coins. The controls sit in a row under the reels: win, total bet, new bet, spin and max bet, with the balance on the right.

Other Hot Coin Games

The name has become a small family in KA Gaming’s catalogue. The casinos we checked also list Hot Coin VIP and Hot Coin Buy Feature, as well as related titles such as Hot Coins Fortune and Hot Coins & Fruits. The original reviewed here is the plain 25-line version without a bonus buy.

Who It Is For

Hot Coin is for players who like classic fruit machines but want a feature with some weight. The line wins are modest and easy to follow, the wild does the regular work, and the bonus coins can turn any spin into several times the stake – our four coins paid 7x in one go. With a fixed 500x jackpot on display and a 96% RTP, it is a straightforward, old-school game. All six casinos we checked carry it.
