Hoggin’ Gold Overview

Hoggin’ Gold is a five-reel, three-row slot from Yggdrasil with 20 paylines, a 94% RTP and a published ceiling of 4,000x. It was released on 25 March 2025.

No volatility rating is published for this title and we have not invented one. All figures below were read from demo play at a €70.00 total bet.

A Bank at Night

The reels sit in a gold frame in front of a domed neoclassical bank, lit from inside, with a city skyline glowing behind it and dollar-sign topiary bushes clipped into shape on either side of the screen.

Above the frame float two crowned pigs – one blue, one pink – and they are not decoration. Each carries a counter, and each corresponds to one of the two bonus rounds.

The symbol set is money: a pig stuffed with banknotes, a golden bell, a horseshoe, a sack of coins, gold bars and a bundle of cash, above card ranks from 10 to A.

The Paytable

At the €70.00 stake the money pig leads on €1,750.00 for five, €350.00 for four and €140.00 for three. Converted, that top line is 25x the stake.

Below it the bell pays €1,225.00 for five (17.5x), the horseshoe €875.00 (12.5x), the sack €525.00 (7.5x), the gold bars €350.00 (5x) and the cash bundle €262.50 (3.75x).

Two further symbols close the table at €175.00 for five, which is 2.5x. So the spread from the best symbol to the worst is ten to one – narrow, as twenty-line games go.

Two Pigs, Two Counters

The counters under the pigs are the most interesting thing on the screen. Each reads out of fifty – and across the captures the blue one runs 1/50, 3/50, 10/50, 10/50 and 9/50, while the pink one runs 0/50, 0/50, 2/50, 4/50 and 8/50.

Note that the blue figure goes down at one point, from 10 to 9. So this is not a simple one-way collection meter that only ever fills; something in the game spends from it as well as adding to it.

Multipliers Land in the Base Game

A green x2 tile appears on the ordinary reels, not only inside the round. One base capture has it on the third reel with the win lines drawn straight through the grid beneath it.

What the Base Game Paid

The base results are modest and tightly grouped. A grid of kings with a horseshoe and a money pig paid €105.00, which is 1.5x the stake.

A grid of four horseshoes with the lines crossing through it paid €210.00 – 3x – and a second capture with aces, queens and two coin sacks returned €105.00 again.

The best base spin in these captures is a row of three money pigs on the bottom line: the reels credit €350.00 and the plate under the frame totals €700.00, so two separate lines paid at once. That is 10x the stake.

Ten Spins, or Ten Super Spins

The BUY BONUS screen lays the two rounds out side by side, each with its own pig. 10 FREE SPINS costs €3,710.00. 10 SUPER FREE SPINS costs €6,090.00.

Converted, that is 53x the stake for the ordinary round and 87x for the super one. Both are expensive by any standard, and the super version costs 64% more than the plain one for the same number of spins.

The round itself is announced on a pink crowned pig sitting on a heap of coins: CONGRATULATIONS! 10 FREE SPINS, with a CONTINUE button.

Inside the Round

The free spins are played behind a vault door – the whole background becomes a brass safe, hinges and wheel included – and the grid splits into two, one five-by-three set above another.

Both halves spin together, with green x2 tiles landing across them and a spins counter and a pig-coin meter sitting in the top-right corner. The win plate under the frame reads €196.00 in the capture, which is 2.8x.

What the Purchase Actually Cost

This is the number to take away from the page. Before the round the balance reads €8,819.50. After it, on the next capture, it reads €2,729.50.

The difference is €6,090.00 exactly – the price of the super round, to the cent. So the captures record the purchase being taken, not a losing streak.

And the capture after the round finishes reads €2,855.50. That is €126.00 back on a €6,090.00 ticket – about 2% of what was paid for it.

A 94% Return

The figure needs stating plainly: 94% is low. Most of the games in these batches publish 95% or 96%, and with no volatility rating printed there is no second number to set against it.

The earlier balances run €10,867.00, 11,042.00, 10,517.00 and €10,944.00 across the base captures, so the ordinary game held roughly level over that stretch. The whole of the session’s decline came from the one purchase.

Four Thousand Times

The ceiling is printed on the reels themselves. One capture fills the entire grid with fifteen gold pig coins and states it in a banner across the foot of the frame: WIN UP TO 4000x BET.

Against that, the best thing in these captures is a 10x base line and a 2.8x free spin. The gap is enormous, and on a twenty-line game whose top symbol pays 25x for five, reaching 4,000x has to mean the multiplier tiles stacking on both halves of the split grid at once.

Who Should Play It

Hoggin’ Gold is for players who want a piggy-bank slot with real structure behind the theme. The two pigs with their own counters and their own rounds, the split grid behind the vault door and the multiplier tiles that land in the base game as well are all more than decoration, and the bank-at-night artwork is genuinely good.

The reservations are the 94% return, the missing volatility figure, the 87x price of the super round, and the fact that the one purchase in these captures returned two percent of its cost. The 4,000x ceiling is printed on the reels; nothing else here comes close to it.
