Gypsy Fusion Reels Overview

Gypsy Fusion Reels is a fortune-teller slot from KA Gaming, released on 20 September 2023. It plays on a 6x5 grid with a ways-to-win system that tops out at 15,625 ways, and it sits inside a candle-lit palace hall with marble columns and potted palms. SlotCatalog lists a 96% RTP (the game is offered in several RTP versions), and bets run from 0.50 to 200 per spin.

How the Ways Change From Spin to Spin

The number that matters most in Gypsy Fusion Reels is the green plaque above the reels. It shows how many ways are active on the current spin, and it does not stay the same. In our spins it read 384, 480, 960, 1,800 and 8,000 ways. The theoretical maximum of 15,625 is simply five positions on each of the six reels (5 x 5 x 5 x 5 x 5 x 5), so every spin that shows fewer ways has fewer active positions on at least one reel. The “Fusion Reels” in the title refers to this changing reel structure, and SlotCatalog also tags the game with colossal reels and expanding symbols.

The Paytable

At a $500 total bet the pay table shows the following values for six, five, four and three of a kind:

  • Spell book: $5,000 / $2,000 / $1,000 / $500 – 10x, 4x, 2x and 1x the bet
  • Tablet: $2,000 / $1,000 / $500 / $250
  • Green potion: $1,250 / $600 / $400 / $200
  • Raven: $900 / $450 / $300 / $150
  • Candle: $600 / $300 / $200 / $100
  • A, K, Q, J and 10: $200 / $150 / $100 / $50

The crystal-ball scatter pays on its own: $1,000 for three (2x), $5,000 for four (10x), $25,000 for five (50x) and $50,000 for six – 100x the bet. It is by far the most valuable symbol in the game.

Reading the Numbers

The pay table is written for the whole bet, so it reads the same at every stake: at the 0.50 minimum a six-book line is worth 5.00, and at the 200 maximum it is worth 2,000. Two things stand out. First, the gap between the top card symbol and the book is large – the book pays ten times the stake for six, the cards never more than 0.4x. Second, three of a kind already pays on every symbol, so a spin with many open ways can collect several small combinations at once.

What Our Spins Showed

We played the demo at a $500 total bet. A spin with 480 active ways paid $100 for a run of 10s, and one with 960 ways paid $300 for Qs – both small wins, well under the stake, which is normal for the card symbols. Ravens across the first reels on a 384-way spin returned exactly the stake, $500.

The purple WILD made the difference on the next one: with candles and potions on an 8,000-way grid it helped build a $650 win. The biggest moment of our session came on an 1,800-way spin, where ravens filled the lower reels and the game announced a MEGA WIN of $16,200 – about 32x the bet.

Why the Ways Count Matters

Because the payout for a combination is multiplied by the number of ways it forms, the same three ravens are worth far more on an 8,000-way spin than on a 384-way one. That is what makes the game swing: most spins pay a fraction of the stake, and a big win needs a good symbol landing on a spin where many positions are open.

Free Spins

SlotCatalog lists free spins with additional free spins, a wild and expanding symbols among the features. Our screenshots show only base-game spins, so we cannot describe the bonus round in more detail than that.

Graphics and Setting

The reels hang in a gilded frame between green velvet curtains, with a blue crystal orb in each upper corner. The high symbols are drawn as tarot-style cards: the spell book, a stone tablet, a green potion bottle, a raven on a branch and a burning candle. The card royals are carved in coloured glass. Win amounts appear in large gold numerals, and the Mega Win screen showers the reels with gold coins.

More Fusion Reels Games

KA Gaming has used the Fusion Reels format in several games, including Idun's Garden Fusion Reels, Barbarian Giants Fusion Reels and Soul Gems Fusion Reels.

Who It Is For

Gypsy Fusion Reels suits players who like ways games with a lot of variation. The ways count changes on every spin, the scatter pays up to 100x on its own, and the big wins come when a good symbol lands on a wide-open grid. All six casinos we checked carry it.
