Giga Match North Pole Overview

Giga Match North Pole is a pay-anywhere slot from Ruby Play on a six-by-five grid, released on 15 October 2024. It has an RTP of 96.32% and a published maximum win of 2,000x the bet. Ruby Play does not publish a volatility rating for it.

Symbols do not need to line up. Eight or more of the same kind anywhere on the grid make a win, the winning symbols disappear, and new ones fall in to replace them. On top of that sit two jackpot systems and a free games round that can be bought outright.

All figures below were read from demo play at a €10 total bet.

Winter in the Far North

The grid stands in a snowy pine forest at the foot of a glacier, with frosted trees on both sides and an icy lake below. The reels themselves are dark violet panels framed in ice.

The premium symbols are animals of the Arctic: a polar bear, a walrus, an arctic wolf and a snowy owl, each shown in a frosted tile. The low symbols are the royals A, K, Q, J and 10 in icy pastel colours. Glowing snowflakes appear on the grid during play to mark the special positions described below.

The controls are kept simple. A bar along the bottom holds the info button, the total bet with minus and plus buttons, the win box, Turbo and Auto, and a large round spin button. Your balance is shown in the lower-left corner, and the buy button sits on the left side of the reels.

The Paytable

Wins are paid in three bands: 8–9 symbols, 10–11 symbols and 12 or more. At a €10 bet the polar bear pays €100, €250 and €500, so twelve or more bears are worth 50x the bet.

The walrus pays €25, €100 and €250. The wolf pays €20, €50 and €150, and the owl pays €15, €20 and €120.

Among the royals, the A pays €10, €15 and €100, and the K pays €8, €12 and €80. The Q pays €5, €10 and €50, and the J pays €4, €9 and €40. The 10 is the lowest symbol at €2, €8 and €20.

The steep top band matters. For most symbols, going from ten or eleven to twelve or more multiplies the prize several times, which is why long cascades are where the real money is.

Cascades and Cash Spots

Every win clears its symbols and triggers a cascade, so one spin can pay several times. The game adds each step to the total and shows the result in the win box, together with a line such as “Match 16 pays €12.00”.

Positions that take part in a win can be marked with snowflakes and then show cash amounts on the grid. We saw values of €4, €5, €8, €25, €30 and one of €100 (10x the bet) sitting on these spots during cascades.

The results can add up quickly. On one spin the game reported a “Match 18” step worth €105, more than 10x the bet, while the win counter was still climbing past €74. Another spin paid €42.50.

With thirty positions and a threshold of eight matching symbols, a win needs just over a quarter of the grid to show one symbol. That is why the royals, which appear most often, produce most of the everyday wins.

Two Jackpot Systems

Above the reels are two sets of jackpots. On the right are four fixed-name prizes: Mini, Minor, Major and Grand. At a €10 bet they started at €100, €200, €2,000 and €20,000.

That Grand starting value is exactly 2,000x the bet, the published maximum win. The Grand is progressive, though. During our session it rose to €20,766, then €22,987 and finally €25,097, so the displayed prize can go beyond the official ceiling.

On the left is the Match Blitz ladder, numbered from 2 to 6. Its prizes changed from screen to screen: the top level stood at about €6,818 at the start of our session and at about €6,142 later on.

Free Games

The bonus round awards 10 free games, announced on a northern-lights screen. The cascade system and the cash spots stay active throughout.

The Buy Feature button on the left sells the round directly for €1,000, which is 100x the bet. The game asks for confirmation before charging the price.

What the Session Showed

Most ordinary spins paid modest amounts in the €4 to €14 range. The cascades lifted several of them into the tens of euros: €32, €42.50 and the €105 cascade step were the best results we captured.

That fits the shape of the paytable. The royals keep the balance moving, and the big animal clusters and the jackpots carry the upside.

Who Should Play It

Giga Match North Pole suits players who enjoy cascading pay-anywhere games and like to have a jackpot running in the background. The 96.32% RTP is solid, and the paytable is clearly laid out by cluster size.

The main reservation is how much of the upside rests on the jackpots and the cascades rather than the base symbols. Twelve polar bears still pay only 50x, so the 2,000x headline figure really belongs to the Grand.
