How we rate games

Every slot is scored on the same four criteria, using the game's published data: RTP (40%), maximum win potential (25%), bonus features described in our review (30%) and how recent the release is (5%). Missing data counts as neutral. The score reflects the game's numbers and features, not your chances of winning; slots are games of chance, so please play responsibly.

Fisherman’s Luck™ Halloween Jackpots is the seasonal re-skin of Wazdan’s fishing slot, published through VoltEnt. Inside the game it starts under the name Fisherman’s Luck™ Halloween Edition, with a small pumpkin badge in the corner, and it builds on the March 2026 original: a Gainer mechanic that gathers fish, coins and jackpots into one big bonus payout.

A Spooky Pond Instead of a Sunny Lake

The reels hang over dark water. Carved pumpkins fill every empty cell, a witch with a staff watches from the left and a hooded, glowing-eyed fisherman drifts in from the right. The jackpot plaques on the right list Mini, Minor, Major and Grand, and the controls are the usual VoltEnt bar with the Chance Level selector on the left. The Halloween set changes the look and the name; the rules in the info menu describe the same Gainer system as the original.

A Base Game Without Regular Symbols

The grid is 5 reels by 3 rows, with an extra strip of five special reels above it. There are no regular paying symbols and no paylines, so the base game pays nothing by itself: prizes can only be won in the bonus game or through the Cash Out feature. What you watch for instead is a fisherman landing on the top strip. Underneath, fish carrying values from 1x to 10x the bet drop onto the grid, together with Mini, Minor and Major jackpot symbols worth 20x, 50x and 100x.

How the Gainer Works

The fisherman on the top row is the Gainer™ symbol. When it lands it gets a random countdown between 1 and 10 and locks in place. On every spin it scoops up the values of all the cash and jackpot symbols that appear in the column below it, until the counter reaches zero. The numbers beside each fisherman in the demo are the running totals, and they grow quickly once several columns are active at the same time.

Free Spins on a Condition

The round is not started by a scatter on its own. A Free Spins symbol has to land on a reel beneath an active Gainer, and the line on the bottom bar says it plainly: draw it under a fisherman to trigger 10 free spins. Another one under an active Gainer during the bonus adds 10 more. When the round begins, an award screen explains the three kinds of modifier before the first spin, and the free-spin counter then sits beside the reels while the Gainers keep collecting.

Modifiers That Change the Round

  • Multiplier – a tile that multiplies everything the Gainer in its column has collected by 2x to 10x.
  • Gain Booster – adds 3 to that Gainer’s countdown.
  • Gain to Infinity – removes the countdown, so the Gainer keeps collecting until the bonus ends.

Cash and jackpot values only count when a Gainer picks them up, and at the end of the bonus the prize is the sum of the Gainers’ totals.

Cash Out and Its Respins

The second top-row symbol is Cash Out, drawn as a little boat with its own countdown, from 10 to 20. When the counter hits zero you get 3 respins; cash and jackpot symbols that land under the boat stick to the reel and reset the respins to 3. Fill all three positions below it and you are paid the total of those symbols. It is a slow, Hold and Spin-style side feature that gives the base game some purpose between bonus rounds, and the Cash Out boats are put away when a bonus round starts and restored when it ends.

The Grand Jackpot and the 2,500x Ceiling

A Grand Jackpot symbol can appear only in the bonus game, and when it lands under an active Gainer it awards 2,500x the bet instead of adding up the other values. That figure is also the cap: if the total win in a bonus round reaches 2,500x, the round ends at once, the win is paid and any remaining free spins are forfeited.

Chance Level and the Buy Menu

The Chance Level™ selector on the left offers x2, x5 and x10. It multiplies the stake and, according to the rules, raises the chance of triggering the bonus by at least the same factor (at least 12x on the x10 level); the paytable stays the same. The shopping-cart button opens the Buy Feature menu with five tiers: Low at 50x the bet for 10 free spins, Standard at 100x for 10, High at 200x for 20, Extreme at 500x for 20 and Double Extreme at 1,000x for 30. The two top tiers are available only by buying. Buying may not be offered in every jurisdiction.

Numbers at a Glance

  • RTP: 96.13%
  • Maximum win: 2,500x the bet, bonus game only
  • Layout: 5x3 plus a top row of 5 special reels, no paylines
  • Jackpots: Mini 20x, Minor 50x, Major 100x, Grand 2,500x
  • Volatility: selectable – Low, Standard or High from the volatility button

The fisherman theme with a Halloween coat is a good match for a game built around waiting: the wins do not come from the spinning reels but from how long a Gainer survives and what falls beneath it. Short sessions will look quiet, while a long countdown with a Gain to Infinity or a 10x tile is where the bonus earns its price. It is worth a few free-play rounds first to see how the countdowns behave before moving up the Chance Level ladder.
