How we rate games

Every slot is scored on the same four criteria, using the game's published data: RTP (40%), maximum win potential (25%), bonus features described in our review (30%) and how recent the release is (5%). Missing data counts as neutral. The score reflects the game's numbers and features, not your chances of winning; slots are games of chance, so please play responsibly.

Demonic Dolls is a voodoo-themed horror slot from Hacksaw Gaming, released on 6 October 2026 as one of the studio’s Halloween titles. The setting is a dusty attic full of cardboard boxes, fairy lights and forgotten toys, and the toys are not as innocent as they look: a brown teddy bear with crossed button eyes and a little horned lamb guard the reels, and in the bonus rounds they glow with fire in front of a blood-red sky. The game uses a 5x5 grid with cluster pays, the RTP is 96.26%, the volatility is medium (3 out of 5) and the maximum win is 10,000x the bet in every game mode.

Haunted Toys In The Attic

The reels sit in a heavy wooden frame like an old toy chest. The symbols are things you would find in a cursed playroom: a ball of blue yarn with a needle, a red ribbon bow, a purple axe, a jar of honey with a bone in it and a grey button stitched with green thread. The royals 10, J, Q, K and A are drawn in pale blue letters. Fairy lights, a crescent moon and a pair of scissors hanging from the frame add to the creepy mood, while the cartoon style keeps it more mischievous than gory. Hacksaw’s own tagline sums it up: you really shouldn’t play with dead things.

How The Clusters Pay

A win needs 5 or more identical symbols that connect horizontally or vertically anywhere on the grid. The pay grows in seven steps, from groups of 5 up to 16 or more. The five royals pay up to 10x the bet for a cluster of 16+, the middle symbols up to 50x or 100x, and the best symbol pays 500x for the largest group. Small clusters of five or six pay only a fraction of the bet, so most of the value comes from the Wild Rattles and the free spins.

Wild Rattles And Their Multipliers

The star of the game is the Wild Rattle, a yellow toy snake with spiral eyes. It substitutes for all paying symbols and can land with an additive multiplier of 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, 6x, 7x, 8x, 9x, 10x, 15x, 20x, 25x, 50x or 100x. When a Wild Rattle is part of a win, the win is multiplied by its value, and if several Wild Rattles join the same cluster, their multipliers are added together first. Up to seven Wild Rattles can appear on one spin, counting the ones inside a Colossal Wild.

Merging Into Colossal Wilds

If two Wild Rattles of the same size are part of the same win, they trigger a Respin. All Wild Rattles move to new random positions, and the two that won together merge into a 2x2 Colossal Wild Rattle whose multiplier is the sum of both. New Wild Rattles that land during the respins stay on the grid. If two 2x2 Colossals win together, they merge into a huge 3x3 Colossal Wild Rattle. The respins keep going as long as matching pairs keep merging, and every respin pays its wins.

Three Free Spins Rounds

The green FS scatters in cardboard boxes decide the bonus, and each round gives 10 free spins:

  • All Dolled Up (3 scatters) keeps the base game rules, but Wild Rattles land more often;
  • Bad Omens (4 scatters) guarantees one Wild Rattle on every free spin, with a multiplier of at least 2x;
  • Playtime Is Over, the Hidden Epic Bonus (5 scatters), guarantees two Wild Rattles on every spin, again with at least 2x each.

Scatters cannot land during respins or inside the bonus rounds, so the 10 spins cannot be retriggered.

Bonus Buy And FeatureSpins

Where allowed, the Buy Bonus menu has four options. BonusHunt FeatureSpins cost 3x the bet and make the bonus five times more likely, and Dead Cute FeatureSpins cost 50x and guarantee at least two Wild Rattles on every spin. All Dolled Up can be bought for 75x and Bad Omens for 250x. The RTP of the buy options is between 96.28% and 96.36%, so it stays close to the base game.

A Bad Omens Session

We played the demo with a €2 bet and bought Bad Omens for €500. Four FS boxes popped up on the grid, the attic turned red and the bear’s eyes caught fire. A Wild Rattle arrived on every spin as promised, with values like 3x, 4x and 5x, but they often landed away from bigger clusters. One of the best moments came when a 5x rattle joined a cluster and turned a €2.00 win into €10.00, and the total win grew step by step from €3 to €40.00 after the 10 spins. No pair of rattles merged into a Colossal Wild this time, which shows how much this game depends on the respin chains.

RTP, Bets And Max Win

The default RTP is 96.26%, and Hacksaw also offers versions at 94.19%, 92.24% and 86.21%, so check the game info in your casino. The volatility is medium. In the demo, bets range from €0.10 to €2,000 per spin, and the maximum win is 10,000x the bet, after which the round ends at once.

Is It Worth A Spin?

Demonic Dolls is a creepy little treat for Halloween. The cluster grid is easy to follow, the Wild Rattles with stacking multipliers and the merging Colossal Wilds give every spin a chance to explode, and the three bonus levels are clearly different. Fans of horror themes with a cartoon touch will enjoy it most.
