How we rate games

Every slot is scored on the same four criteria, using the game's published data: RTP (40%), maximum win potential (25%), bonus features described in our review (30%) and how recent the release is (5%). Our editors can adjust a score after playing the game. Missing data counts as neutral. The score reflects the game's numbers and features, not your chances of winning; slots are games of chance, so please play responsibly.

The Oldest Oak Overview

The Oldest Oak is a forest slot from CT Interactive, released on 1 August 2023 according to the studio’s games library. It runs on 5 reels, 3 rows and 25 fixed paylines, and it comes with a wild, a scatter, 15 free games and a gamble feature. SlotCatalog lists an RTP of 95.35% and stakes from 0.25 to 10. CT Interactive publishes neither an RTP nor a volatility rating for the game. The studio quotes a maximum win of 2,000, and SlotCatalog shows the same figure as 2,000x.

Theme and Graphics

The reels stand in a sunlit clearing between two huge, twisted oak trees, and the title sits on a carved wooden board above them. The reel background is a warm orange, and the frame shows the 25 line numbers on both sides, with the word FIXED on the right. The animals of the forest are dressed like travellers in hooded cloaks: a fox in green, a wolf in blue, a doe in purple and a big brown bear in an orange hood. The title logo shows gold letters with a small green gem, and the cover art puts the four animals side by side above it, like a band of friends setting off on a journey.

Symbols

The four hooded animals are the picture symbols. The lower-paying set is made up of the card ranks 10, J, Q, K and A, drawn in gold and colour with a dark outline. The wild is a wooden sign with WILD written on it in gold, and the scatter is a similar golden plaque marked SCATTER. The paytable values are not visible in our screenshots, so open the info screen in the demo to see what each symbol pays at your stake.

Free Games

The banner above the reels explains the bonus in one line: 3, 4 or 5 scatters award 15 free games. The CT games library lists wilds, a scatter and free games as the bonus symbols of the slot. Three of our screenshots also show an x2 badge in the lower left corner, next to the win meter.

Studio Notes

CT Interactive files The Oldest Oak under its classic slots and tags it with two themes, animals and adventure. The games library introduces it as a thrilling adventure amidst mystical trees. SlotCatalog’s feature list matches what the reels show: free spins, a risk or double game, scatter symbols and a wild. Since the 95.35% RTP comes from SlotCatalog and not from the studio, check the information screen at your casino before you play for money.

Gamble Feature

After a win you can open the gamble screen. It shows a face-down card and the last 10 cards drawn. Guessing the colour, red or black, doubles the amount, while guessing the suit multiplies it by four. In our screenshot a gamble amount of 6.00 would have turned into 12.00 on the colour and 24.00 on the suit. A counter on the left of the screen, marked 1/2, keeps track of the gamble steps.

Our Demo Wins

  • 138.00 at a total bet of 6.00 (23x) – line 19 alone paid 12.00, and two scatters were on the reels.
  • 53.04 at 6.00 (8.8x) – line 3 paid 0.96 for a wild and two aces.
  • 48.72 at 6.00 (8.1x) – line 7 paid 48.00 for a row of tens.
  • 2.50 at 1.25 – line 17 paid 2.50 for four aces.

Controls

The total bet, the balance and the win meter are shown under the reels. The round button on the right starts a spin, and the gear icon on the left opens the settings. The blue i button in the top left corner opens the game information, and the current line bet appears in small letters under the reels. The demo on this page runs in fun mode, so you can test the free games and the gamble without a deposit.
