Mermaid Princess Overview

Mermaid Princess is an underwater slot from Triple Cherry, released in 2024. Instead of paylines it uses the studio’s Cherry Ways system on an unusually tall grid: 10 rows by 5 reels, with up to 100,000 ways to win.

Triple Cherry’s own game page lists a hit frequency of 35.35%, a maximum multiplier of x2,245 and several RTP settings, from 88.31% up to 97.51%. The numbers below come from our demo session, played at a bet of FUN 20.00.

Under the Sea

The grid stands as a narrow column in the middle of a bright coral reef, in turquoise, pink and purple. On the left a red-haired mermaid leans against the reels, and on the right a round yellow fish with a red crest watches the spins.

The high symbols are tall character tiles – the mermaid princess and other sea characters, among them a turtle and a red-crested fish – and the lower ones are sea treasures: a jewelled crown, a green claw, a ring, a clam and a starfish, followed by the card letters.

How Cherry Ways Work

With ten rows on each reel, the number of possible connections grows very quickly: a symbol pays when it appears on adjacent reels from the left, and every position it occupies on each reel multiplies the ways. Wins light up across the column, and the winning tiles glow while the rest of the grid darkens.

In practice this produces frequent small wins. At FUN 20.00 our captures show wins of FUN 32.00 (1.6x) and FUN 48.00 (2.4x) in the base game, each made up of several symbols linked across the reels.

The Prize Table

The prize table lists every symbol with its value for three, four and five in a row, in FUN at the current bet. The tall character tiles pay the most, and the treasures and letters form the lower half. The values in our capture are too blurred to quote exactly, so we leave them out rather than guess.

What the table does make clear is the structure: every symbol pays for three, four or five on adjacent reels, and the value is always shown in FUN for the bet you have selected, so changing the stake updates the whole table at once.

The Bonus Chests

Bonus symbols lead into a chest pick. Five treasure chests appear on a glowing stage; the golden ones count, the grey ones marked with a red cross do not. In our round three chests turned gold and the game announced: “You won 5 free spins!”

Triple Cherry sums up the rule simply: the more Bonus symbols, the more free spins.

The Free Spins

The free spins use the same 10×5 grid, and Triple Cherry adds wild symbols with multipliers to the round. Our free spins paid FUN 70.00 (3.5x) on one spin, with a long run of Js and Ks down the first reels, and FUN 128.00 (6.4x) on another, where crowns and character tiles connected across the whole height of the grid.

What the Session Did

The balance moved from FUN 1,680 to FUN 2,008 during the base game, dropped to FUN 718 after the bonus purchase, and recovered to FUN 852 and FUN 958 during the free spins. That shape – a costly entry followed by steady returns – is typical of a bought feature on a game with many small ways wins.

The controls are simple.
