Dashing Hot 20 is a twenty-line fruit machine built on the most familiar furniture in the genre – cherries, lemons, plums, grapes, a watermelon, a red seven and a gold star – and at first glance it looks like a hundred other classics. The paytable tells a different story. Almost every symbol on the reels pays modestly, and then one of them, the star, pays five hundred times the stake for a full line. That single row of numbers is the whole game.

It is distributed through the Fazi platform and carries a low volatility rating, an unusual pairing with so dominant a top symbol. The result is a game that pays little and often while keeping one very large prize at the end of the table – and unusually for a modern release there is no bonus round, no free spins and no buy feature. Theme and Graphics

The presentation is clean and deliberately retro. The reels sit on white and grey stripes inside a rounded white frame, the panel glowing purple against a dark violet background, with the logo set in chrome-blue capitals. No story, no character, no animated backdrop – the game is confident enough to leave the screen quiet.

The symbols themselves are drawn thick and glossy in the old arcade style, with heavy black outlines. The one piece of theatre is what happens when a symbol pays: it drops onto a burst of orange flame that spreads behind it, so a winning cluster reads as a row of burning fruit across an otherwise cool screen.

Reels, Paylines and Betting Range

The layout is five reels and three rows with 20 fixed paylines, paying from the leftmost reel rightwards. Winning lines are traced in bright yellow across the grid as they land, and with twenty of them active several often overlap on the same spin. Twenty lines on fifteen positions is a dense arrangement: most winning spins in the demo lit three or four shapes at once rather than a single clean row.

All the figures quoted below come from demo rounds at a 1,000.00 total stake, which makes the multipliers easy to read straight off the screen: a 2,000.00 win is 2x the bet, a 24,000.00 win is 24x. Symbols and Paytable

The fruit tier is arranged in three bands. At the 1,000.00 stake the plum, the orange and the cherries share the bottom rung at 5,000.00 for five, 1,000.00 for four and 500.00 for three – that is 5x, 1x and 0.5x the bet. The lemon and the grapes sit one step up at 10,000.00 / 2,000.00 / 1,000.00, or 10x, 2x and 1x. The watermelon is the best of the fruits at 20,000.00 / 4,000.00 / 1,000.00, topping out at 20x.

Those numbers match what the demo produced. A spin with the watermelon filling the top row and paying again lower down returned 24,000.00 – 24x the bet, which is the 20x five-of-a-kind plus a four-of-a-kind alongside it. A grape line came in at 3,500.00, a plum line at exactly 1,000.00, and an orange-and-seven combination at 9,000.00. Note how tight that spread is: the gap between the cheapest fruit and the most expensive one is a factor of four, where a typical modern slot spreads its symbols over a factor of twenty or more.

The Seven as Wild

The red seven is the wild, and it is also the second-best paying symbol in its own right. Five of them return 50,000.00 at the 1,000.00 stake – 50 times the bet, four return 20,000.00, and three return 2,000.00.

The shape of that progression is worth noting. Going from three sevens to four multiplies the prize by ten, but going from four to five only multiplies it by two and a half. Most slots accelerate towards the top of the table; this one does its steepest climb in the middle, which means a four-seven line is a much better result than its position in the table suggests.

The Star: Half the Ceiling on One Line

The gold star is where the game keeps its ambition. Three stars pay 10,000.00 and four stars pay 20,000.00 – already respectable, and roughly in line with the watermelon, which is the best of the ordinary symbols. Five stars pay 500,000.00.

At the 1,000.00 stake that is 500x the bet, and the published maximum win for the whole game is 1,000x. In other words, a single line of five stars is worth half of everything the game can pay, and it is twenty-five times the four-star prize sitting immediately below it on the same column of the paytable.

That 25x step between four and five of a kind is the largest single jump anywhere in the game, and nothing else comes close – the next biggest final step is the watermelon's five-fold rise from 4,000.00 to 20,000.00. A four-star line, in this game, is not “nearly there”. It is a different order of prize entirely.

Reading the Wins

With twenty lines across a three-row grid, several results usually pay at once, and the flame graphic keeps that readable. Only the symbols contributing to a win get a fire behind them, so you can see at a glance which positions counted – on the grape spin, five of the seven grapes on screen are lit and two are not.

The yellow payline traces add the second layer of information, showing which of the twenty shapes connected. Between the two, a 3,500.00 result is easy to account for without opening the paytable – the lines are drawn thin enough not to obscure the symbols underneath, which is more than can be said for a lot of twenty-line games.

RTP, Volatility and Max Win

The RTP is 95.79%, slightly below the modern average, and the volatility is rated Low. The maximum win is 1,000x the bet, which is modest by current standards but entirely consistent with a low-variance classic – ceilings and variance tend to move together, and a game that pays often cannot also pay enormously.

Put those next to the paytable and the game is easy to read. Low volatility plus a fruit tier paying from half the stake means frequent small returns; the demo's wins – 1,000.00, 1,500.00, 2,000.00, 3,500.00, 5,000.00 – cluster between one and five times the bet. The star line is the outlier the structure is built around, and on a low-volatility game it is a long wait.
