Banana Twist is a fruit slot from Bulletproof Games, distributed through Yggdrasil and released on 26 April 2026. It plays on an unusual 5x5 grid with 20 paylines, returns 94%, takes bets from 0.10 to 100 and caps wins at 1,000x. Its hook is the Twisting Banana: a banana that sprouts a vine up the reel and turns it into a multiplier Wild column.

A Fruit Stall With Chameleons

The reels are set up like a market stall under a red-and-white striped awning, with bamboo poles on either side. Two chameleons – one green, one blue – cling to the frame and watch the spins, and a tropical beach and more market tents fill the background. The Banana Twist logo, with a peeled banana, hangs from the top of the awning.

The layout is tidy. The bottom bar shows lines, winnings, stake and credit, a panel on the left opens the More Game Modes menu and the bet selector, and the spin button sits on the right. Winning lines are totalled in a green strip under the reels, for example “8 lines = €1,980.00”.

The Paytable

The paytable screen is shown at a stake of €2, so every value converts easily into multiples of the bet. Lines pay left to right for three, four or five symbols.

Three symbols share the top tier: the star with sunglasses, the double banana and the single banana each pay 25x for five, 8x for four and 2x for three. The watermelon pays 10x / 4x / 1x, and grapes and cherries 8x / 4x / 1x.

The lemon sits with the cards: lemon, J, Q, K and A all pay 2x for five, 0.8x for four and 0.2x for three.

The WILD is a banana on a green leaf tile and substitutes for everything except the Free Spins symbol. The version number in the corner of the paytable reads v0.0.22, dated 27 March 2026.

20 Lines On A 5x5 Grid

A 5x5 grid with only 20 fixed lines is an unusual combination. The winlines page shows the patterns: the first five are the straight rows from top to bottom, and the other fifteen are zigzags, V shapes and steps that wander between rows. All of them pay from left to right.

With five rows and so few lines, a single symbol on the grid only belongs to a handful of lines. That is exactly why the Twisting Banana matters so much: a Wild column crosses every row, so it touches every one of the 20 lines that passes through that reel.

Twisting Bananas

When a banana lands, a vine shoots up from it and covers the reel above with leaves, turning that section into Wilds with a multiplier tag on top. The multipliers we saw were x2, x3, x4 and x5. A vine does not always reach the top – in one screenshot an x2 vine covers only the lower part of the first reel, while an x4 vine climbs almost to the top of the middle reel.

That base game spin paid €1,980 from eight lines on a €50 bet, almost 40x, and it shows how the feature works: short vines add a few Wild positions, tall ones cover most of a column, and a line crossing a multiplier Wild is multiplied accordingly.

Five Game Modes

The More Game Modes menu is where Banana Twist differs from a plain fruit slot. At a €5 base bet it offers five options, each with its own volatility meter.

Golden Bet costs €7.50 per spin (1.5x) and makes the free spins feature twice as likely, at medium volatility. Bonus Chase costs €15 (3x), makes free spins five times as likely, and is rated high volatility.

The two cheaper modes are a trade-off rather than a free upgrade. Paying 1.5x to double the free spins chance, or 3x to multiply it by five, only makes sense if the free spins round is what you are playing for.

Banana Twists costs €125 per spin – 25x the bet – and guarantees at least two Twisting Bananas in view on every spin. The confirmation box warns that the cost is deducted from your balance each spin until you switch the mode off, which is worth reading twice. In our screenshot the mode is active with x5 and x3 vines on screen, and the spin pays €170 from 15 lines – €45 more than the spin cost, which shows how thin the margin is at that price.

Free Spins And Super Free Spins

The last two modes are straight bonus buys. Free Spins costs €500 (100x) and awards the feature as if three Free Spins symbols had landed, with Twisting Bananas. Super Free Spins costs €1,200 (240x) and awards the four-symbol version, where the Twisting Bananas are sticky.

Our Super Free Spins round opened with the message “You have won 10 Free Spins featuring Sticky Twisting Bananas”. A few spins in, two full x4 vines stood side by side on reels two and three, and a single spin paid €209.91 from 15 lines on the €5 stake – about 42x.

Without buying, the same features come from the Free Spins symbol: three of a kind give the regular round, four of a kind the version with sticky bananas, according to the game modes menu. The paytable is explicit that the Wild cannot stand in for the Free Spins symbol.

Sticky vines are what make the super version worth its price: once a multiplier column is in place, it keeps working for the rest of the round instead of vanishing after one spin.

RTP And The Ceiling

94% is low, and it is the main thing to weigh before playing. The 1,000x cap is modest too, and it sits uncomfortably next to a 240x Super Free Spins price: the best possible round returns about four times what it costs to buy.

Who It Is For

It suits players who enjoy tinkering with bet modes and like a visible, easy-to-follow multiplier mechanic on a bright fruit theme. If RTP and maximum win are your first filters, the numbers here will put you off.
