Gold of Mermaid Overview

Gold of Mermaid is an underwater slot from Amigo Gaming, released on 28 May 2023. It plays on a 5x3 grid with 25 paylines, set on a sea bed full of sunken treasure chests and gold coins. The studio rates it medium-high volatility, and the banner above the reels reads “Win up to x1200”. It has two features: Free Games and a Pin Win bonus.

The Symbols

The high symbols are sea creatures – a red octopus, a nautilus shell, a jellyfish and a green turtle – plus the mermaid herself, with A, K, Q and J in gold, purple and blue as the low symbols. The golden shell marked BONUS triggers the features, and pearls carry cash values: on our screenshot a pearl showed 0.200 at a €0.10 stake, twice the bet.

Free Games: Only Rare Symbols

The free games start with the message “You won 8 free games! Only rare symbols appear on the reels”. The panel shows exactly which ones: the bonus shell, the mermaid, the octopus, the nautilus, the jellyfish and the turtle – no card letters at all. The trigger itself paid €2.50 at a €2.50 stake, 1x the bet.

What Our Free Games Showed

With only the premium symbols on the reels, wins come in batches. On the 2nd of 8 free games the mermaid appeared as a stacked WILD on the second reel and linked octopus lines: 8 lines paid €30 (12x), one of them €12 on its own. On the 3rd free game two wild reels connected 11 lines for a Big Win of €70.50 – 28x the bet.

Reading Our Free Games Numbers

The two free-game spins show how the reduced reel set works. The first paid €30 across eight lines, an average of €3.75 a line; the second paid €70.50 across eleven lines, about €6.40 a line. The single octopus line of €12 is almost five times the stake on its own. Neither spin came close to the 1,200x ceiling – our Big Win was 28x – but with the letters gone, every free spin has a real chance to pay on several lines at once.

The pearl we saw in the base game was worth twice the stake. Pearls carry cash values in multiples of the stake; how they are paid out in the Pin Win is not shown in our screenshots.

Graphics and Setting

The reels are framed in carved stone with shells in the corners, under a Gold of Mermaid logo decorated with a golden scallop. Open treasure chests overflow with coins and jewels on both sides, sharks swim in the blue water behind, and gold coins with the Amigo Gaming stamp fly across the screen on a Big Win. The mermaid has long red hair and a green tail, and she turns into the wild during the free games.

The Pin Win and the Treasure Chests

According to Amigo Gaming, six bonus symbols trigger the Pin Win. The mermaids lead you to the treasure chests, and each chest awards one of several mystery rewards, including jackpots. Our screenshots do not show this round, so the free demo is the place to see it.
