How we rate games
Every slot is scored on the same four criteria, using the game's published data: RTP (40%), maximum win potential (25%), bonus features described in our review (30%) and how recent the release is (5%). Our editors can adjust a score after playing the game. Missing data counts as neutral. The score reflects the game's numbers and features, not your chances of winning; slots are games of chance, so please play responsibly.

Fishing Season OverviewFishing Season is a cartoon fishing slot from Caleta, the Brazilian studio, released in March 2023. The reels are nailed together from driftwood on a pier by the sea, a grinning old fisherman is the star, and the cast includes a treasure-hunting octopus, a swordfish, a snorkelling fish and a fish skeleton next to the wooden royals. The game runs on 5 reels, 3 rows and 20 fixed lines. SlotCatalog lists an RTP of 94.59%, medium volatility, a maximum win of x1,116 and stakes from 0.20 to 200. How the Symbols PayThe line structure is unusual. According to SlotCatalog’s review, several symbols pay like scatters for short combinations, anywhere on the grid, and only pay on lines for four and five of a kind. The pink snorkel fish, for example, pays for 2 to 5 matches, from x10 to x100. It is worth opening the paytable before the first spin. Three JackpotsThe Jackpot swordfish awards the fixed jackpots shown above the reels. On a FUN 1.00 bet the board read Minor 10.00, Major 225.00 and Grand 625.00 – exactly the 10x, 225x and 625x that SlotCatalog gives for three, four or five swordfish anywhere on the grid. The Fishing BonusThree fisherman BONUS symbols start a pick-and-collect game; in our session they landed on reels 2, 3 and 4. The fisherman rows out among a field of floats, and the game warns: “Let’s fish some prizes! But be careful: there’s an eel somewhere!” Each float hides a prize until the eel ends the round. SlotCatalog adds that four fishermen give the bonus with a x2 multiplier and five add a 100x prize. The Treasure Chest BonusThe octopus chest symbols trigger a single pick. With three of them on the reels, the game asked us to “Open a treasure chest!”. The three chests held 7.50, 10.00 and 15.00, and our pick opened the 15.00 – 15x the FUN 1.00 bet, which the win meter then showed. Buy FeatureGame SettingsThe controls sit on a dark strip below the pier: balance, total bet with plus and minus buttons, a MAX stake button, the spin button, autoplay and a speed switch that starts on NORMAL. SlotCatalog notes three Turbo Spin modes, and the HTML5 build is made to run on phones as well as desktops. A Buy Feature button sits beside the reels. SlotCatalog lists the prices: the fishing bonus in Minor and Major versions for 14.35x and 25.05x the bet, and the chest pick in Minor, Major and Grand versions for 21.85x, 36.45x and 65.50x.
