Dreams of Cleopatra

Dreams of Cleopatra Overview

Dreams of Cleopatra is an Egyptian slot from Spinomenal, released on 22 April 2024. It plays on 5 reels and 3 rows with 30 fixed paylines, bets run from 0.30 to 300, and the published maximum win is 1,000x the stake.

Spinomenal publishes several RTP settings for the game – 88.36%, 91.42–91.54%, 93.31–93.34% and 95.79–95.83% – so the return depends on the version a casino runs. Our data box shows the highest figure. No volatility rating is published by Spinomenal or listed by SlotCatalog, so we leave that field empty rather than guess.

The numbers below come from our own demo session, played mostly at 5 per line for a total bet of 150, with the bought feature at a total bet of 60.

A Palace on the Nile

The reels sit in a gold frame against a night sky over the pyramids, with palm trees on the left and the river glowing behind the grid. Cleopatra herself is the wild, painted in gold and turquoise with the word WILD across her portrait. The medium symbols are the classic Egyptian set – a winged scarab, a golden pharaoh mask, an ankh and a jewelled casket – while the low symbols are carved card ranks from 10 to A.

Lines and Stakes

The lines page shows all 30 paylines as small diagrams, from the three straight rows to V shapes, zigzags and steps. The footer of the same page states the rules plainly: all symbols pay left to right starting with the leftmost reel, and only the highest win on each winning line is paid.

The stake is set per line with the plus and minus buttons, and the total bet is always the line bet times 30. At 5 per line the total was 150; at 2 per line it was 60. The win box shows both the total win and, for line wins, the win per line, which makes it easy to check every result against the paytable.

The Paytable

Wins are paid as multiples of the line bet, left to right from the first reel, and only the highest win on each line counts. The scarab is the top medium symbol at 1,000 for five, 200 for four and 40 for three. The pharaoh pays 400, 80 and 30, the ankh 200, 50 and 25, and the casket 120, 40 and 20.

The card ranks are much smaller: the A pays 50, 25 and 15, the K 40, 20 and 10. Because there are 30 lines, five scarabs on one line are worth about 33x the total bet – the big results have to come from several lines at once.

The rules explain the feature that makes that possible. A medium symbol may land as a 1x2 or 1x3 stacked symbol, and a stacked symbol always pays the same as the single version. A stack of scarabs or pharaohs therefore sits on two or three rows at once and can complete several of the 30 lines in the same spin.

The Wild in Action

Our captures show how much the wild matters. In one spin Cleopatra appeared on the first two reels and the result was 275. In another, three Ks on the top row were joined by a wild on the first reel and a K on the fifth: the game showed 200 per line – five Ks at 40 times the line bet of 5 – and 250 for the spin. A board full of caskets and ankhs paid 500, a little over 3x the 150 stake.

Free Spins – Choose Your Play

When the free spins arrive, the game offers a choice. You can take 20 free spins with 1x2 stacked medium symbols or 10 free spins with 1x3 stacked medium symbols. It is the classic trade-off: more spins with shorter stacks, or fewer spins with taller ones that cover a whole reel.

Which Mode to Pick

The two modes change the character of the round. With 1x2 stacks a medium symbol covers two of the three rows, so it helps on many lines but rarely fills a reel on its own. With 1x3 stacks a single medium symbol covers a full reel, and three or four full reels of scarabs or pharaohs in a row would pay on all 30 lines at once. That is the route to the top of the paytable, but you get only half as many spins to find it.

In practice, the 20-spin mode suits players who prefer a steadier round, and the 10-spin mode suits those who want to chase the bigger hits. The game does not tell you which has the better return, so the choice is about taste rather than maths.

Buy Feature

The Buy Feature sits next to the spin button. At a total bet of 60 the price to trigger free spins was 2,100, which is 35x the stake – low for a buy option. The balance dropped from 3,725 to 1,625 when we paid.

Our Bought Round

We chose the 20 spins. With 16 left the round stood at 880, helped by two stacked Cleopatra wilds in the middle of the grid. By the time 5 spins remained, the total had reached 4,670 – about 78x the 60 bet and more than twice the price of the buy. The best spin in that stretch had Cleopatra wilds stacked on the first two reels and pharaoh masks across reels three and four, and the balance ended at 6,295.

The early part of the bought round was quiet. In the capture with 16 spins left, casket stacks sat on the first and fourth reels and two Cleopatra wilds stood in the middle, but the round total was still only 880 – well below the 2,100 price. The turnaround came later, when stacked wilds on the first two reels lined up with pharaoh masks: pharaohs pay 400 times the line bet for five, and with stacks several lines paid at once.

That is typical for this kind of feature. A handful of spins with the right stacks carry the round, and the rest pay little or nothing.

The Numbers to Keep in Mind

The RTP range is the first thing to check. The top setting of about 95.8% is close to the market average, but the lowest version returns only 88.36%, so it is worth opening the game’s info page in the casino before playing. The 1,000x ceiling is modest for a game with a buy option, and the paytable shows why: even five scarabs pay only a third of that on one line.

Who Should Play It

Dreams of Cleopatra suits players who like classic Egyptian slots with a clear 30-line structure and a cheap way into the bonus. The choice between 20 short-stack and 10 tall-stack free spins gives the feature some variety, and the demo above lets you try both before playing for money.
