The Candy Slot Deluxe Overview

The Candy Slot Deluxe is a sweets-themed slot from Mascot Gaming, released on 9 April 2024 according to the studio (SlotCatalog lists 8 April). It plays on 6 reels and 5 rows with 15,625 ways to win, and it combines a cascading “Rockfall” mechanic with coin prizes, free spins and Mascot’s Risk & Buy system.

Mascot rates the game as medium volatility with a hit rate of 18.3%, and SlotCatalog gives an RTP of 94.62%. The banner above the reels promises wins of up to x3500, the same figure Mascot and SlotCatalog publish. Bets run from 0.25 to 50.

The figures below come from our demo session at a bet of 50.00, so a win divided by fifty is its multiple of the stake.

A Land Made of Sugar

The grid sits on a purple board framed by pink icing, in a landscape of candy canes, giant lollipops and chocolate hills. The logo in the corner carries a small golden crown, and the symbols are baked goods and sweets: gingerbread stars and trees, heart cookies, croissant-shaped orange slices, candy canes, lollipops, a watermelon popsicle and a sprinkled donut.

The colours stay soft even when the screen fills up, which helps on a 6x5 grid where thirty symbols are in play on every spin.

The Paytable

Symbols pay for three to six of a kind on adjacent reels from the left. At our 50.00 bet the rules showed the orange slice at 240 for six, 70 for five, 24 for four and 10 for three – 4.8x the stake for a full six. The star cookie paid 150 for six, the heart cookie 100, the Christmas tree cookie 60, the candy cane 40 and the pink button cookie 30.

Mascot’s own list completes the top of the table. The green lollipop, pink meringue, watermelon popsicle and donut sit above the orange slice, with the donut paying about eight times as much as the orange slice for six – about 40x the bet at the same scale. Because the grid has 15,625 ways, the same symbol can pay on many ways at once, so real wins are often several times the table value.

Put together, Mascot’s figures and the rules screen give the full six-of-a-kind ladder at a 50.00 bet: pink button cookie 30, candy cane 40, Christmas tree cookie 60, heart cookie 100, star cookie 150, orange slice 240, green lollipop 270, pink meringue 500, watermelon popsicle 1,000 and donut 2,000. In multiples of the stake that runs from 0.6x at the bottom to 40x at the top, with a big gap between the lollipop and the three premium sweets.

Rockfall Cascades

Every win triggers the Rockfall feature: the winning symbols disappear, new ones drop into the gaps, and the process repeats until no new win forms. It works in the base game and in the free spins, so a single paid spin can turn into a short chain of wins.

Rockfall matters most on a 6x5 ways grid. Every cleared symbol makes room for new ones, and a new Wild or a matching symbol can land in exactly the spot that extends the next chain.

Our first capture shows this in action, with green lollipops spread across the grid being cleared in a chain while the win counter climbed.

Wilds, Scatters and Bonus Coins

The Wild is a golden crown. It appears on reels 2 to 6 and substitutes for all symbols except the Scatter and the Bonus symbol.

The Scatter is a candy star. Five or more trigger the free spins, and each Scatter in the combination awards 2 free spins, so five Scatters give ten. In our session the award screen read “You won 10 free spins – Random feature is activated during each spin!”

The Bonus symbol is a purple gem. Five or more of them start the Coin feature, in which every Bonus symbol awards a random coin prize that is added to the spin’s win. It works in the base game and in the free spins. In one of our free spins, coins worth 20.00, 30.00 and 40.00 sat on the grid at the same time.

Free Spins With the Random Feature

The Random feature adds special symbols – Wilds, Scatters and Bonus symbols – to the screen. In the base game it appears on a random spin, but during the free spins it fires on every spin, which is what makes the round lively.

Landing five or more Scatters during the free spins awards extra free spins, and the banner reminds you of it: “5+ award extra Free Spins!” Our round did exactly that. With the total at 180.00 and eight spins left, a big cascade added 946.86 in one spin; shortly after, 10 extra free spins landed, taking the counter to 16. At 12 spins left the total stood at 1,164.00.

Two of our free spin captures show how the round builds. In one, with nine spins left, coin prizes of 20.00, 30.00 and 40.00 sat on the grid next to two Scatters and a crown Wild on the bottom row, while a cascade in the middle showed 54.80. In another, a group of pink button cookies was being cleared for a 232.50 cascade, with a crown Wild waiting on the bottom of the fourth reel. According to Mascot, all free spins won during the round are added together, so extra awards simply extend the same series.

When the round ended the game offered us the Risk Game on a win of 2,906.00 – 58.1x the stake.

Buy Free Spins

The buy menu offers two prices for 10 free spins. At 50.00 the standard Buy Feature cost 2,600 (52x), and the Special Offer cost 2,700 (54x). The special price changes after every spin, so it is not always the cheaper option – in our capture it was 100 more than the standard buy.

The Risk Game

After any win you can collect or take the Risk Game, a candy-coloured wheel of fortune with x2 and x3 segments and further rings inside. On our 2,906.00 win the screen showed a maximum possible win of 50,000 – 1,000x the bet, which is the Risk Game’s own ceiling. The slot’s x3500 maximum comes from the reels and features, not from the wheel.

Who Should Play It

The Candy Slot Deluxe suits players who like busy cascading grids with several features working together. The Rockfall chains, the coin prizes and the extra free spins give the game plenty of movement, and the medium volatility keeps the swings moderate.

The 94.62% RTP is below the market average, which is worth knowing before a long session. For players who enjoy the feature more than the base game, the buy at around 52–54x the bet is a direct route to it.
