Wild Zombies Overview

Wild Zombies is a comic-horror slot from Popiplay, released on 13 May 2026. It plays on a 5x4 grid with 16 paylines, and its cast is a gang of stitched-up undead: a Zombie Cheerleader, a Zombie Lumberjack and a Zombie Doctor, alongside brain jars, chainsaws and jerry cans. Popiplay publishes a 97.06% RTP, high volatility and a maximum win of 10,000x the bet. SlotCatalog lists stakes from 0.20 to 25.

The Paytable

Wins pay from left to right on the 16 lines for three, four or five of a kind; only the highest win per line is paid, and wins on different lines are added together. At a 2.00 bet the paytable shows:

• Butcher zombie: 20 / 10 / 6 – 10x, 5x and 3x the bet
• Pink-haired girl: 16 / 6 / 3 – 8x, 3x and 1.5x
• Teddy bear: 12 / 4 / 2 – 6x, 2x and 1x

The letters are built from wooden planks nailed together, which fits the barricaded look of the whole game.

Two Kinds of Wild

Brain Jar Wilds land anywhere in the base game and substitute for everything except the scatter. Each jar carries a multiplier for the line it completes, and the colour tells you the range:

• Purple jar: 1x, 2x, 3x or 4x
• Yellow jar: 5x, 10x, 15x or 20x
• Green jar: 25x, 50x, 75x, 100x, 150x or 200x

Zombie Stacked Wilds are the characters themselves, up to four rows tall, in the base game and in the free spins. They carry multipliers too: the Cheerleader 1x–4x, the Lumberjack 5x–20x and the Doctor 25x–200x. A Nudge can shift a partly visible zombie up so it fills the whole reel.

The Brain Lab Respin

Three or more Brain Jar Wilds in one spin trigger the Brain Lab. The triggering jars become sticky and you get 3 respins; every new jar that lands also sticks and resets the counter back to 3. Only regular symbols and jars appear, and the round ends when the respins run out or the grid is full of wilds.

Our trigger was three jars in a row across the middle, each at 1x, completing several lines for 27.00 – 13.5x the 2.00 stake. The game then moved to the lab, with green-glowing test tubes on the right counting the respins. On the 3/3 screen four sticky 1x jars were paying 29.40 on that spin, and the round total stood at 72.60, just over 36x.

Graveyard Spins

The zombie-hand scatter triggers the free spins, called Graveyard Spins:

• 3 scatters: 10 Graveyard Spins
• 4 scatters: 15 Graveyard Spins
• 5 scatters: 5 Graveyard Spins and 5 Super Graveyard Spins

Brain Jars do not appear in this round. Instead, any Zombie Stacked Wild that lands fully visible turns into a Walking Wild, moving one reel to the left on every spin until it walks off the grid. In the Super Graveyard Spins the zombies land more often, become Walking Wilds straight away, and their original landing spot stays locked and keeps spawning a new stacked wild for the rest of the bonus; higher multipliers are also more likely.

What Our Free Spins Showed

We landed five scatters in one spin – two on the second row, one on the right and two side by side on the bottom row – which gives both kinds of spin. On spin 4 of 5 four reels were covered by Cheerleaders with 2x each, and the round total had reached 1,728.00 – 864x the 2.00 bet. In another round, on spin 3 of 10, a walking line of Cheerleaders (1x, 2x, 1x, 3x) plus a butcher stack produced a single win of 1,064.00, or 532x.

Both results show how the game works: the walking zombies cover whole reels, and their multipliers apply to every line they complete, so a screen full of low multipliers can still produce a very large number.

The Numbers in Context

At the 2.00 stake we played, the 10,000x ceiling means a top prize of 20,000. The paytable alone gets nowhere near that – five butchers pay 10x – so the ceiling depends on the multipliers: a green Brain Jar can carry up to 200x on a single line, and a Zombie Doctor can do the same as a full-reel wild.

The prices of the buys follow the same logic. The Brain Lab costs half as much as the regular Graveyard Spins, and the Super Graveyard Spins cost two and a half times as much again, because that is where the locked spawn points and the higher multipliers are.

The base game sits behind a rusty pipe frame in a foggy suburb, with a “Fresh Brains” neon sign and a “Zombies Run!” warning board on the left. The zombies are drawn cartoon-style, gross but funny.
