The Magic Goblet Overview

The Magic Goblet is a cascading slot from CT Interactive, released on 14 July 2024 according to the studio’s own games library (SlotCatalog gives 15 July). It plays on 5 reels and 3 rows, and instead of paylines it uses scatter wins: symbols pay by how many of them land anywhere on the screen.

CT Interactive lists a maximum win of 5,000x, and SlotCatalog rates the volatility as medium-high. Like most CT games, it has no published RTP, so our data box leaves that field open – check the information panel in the casino’s version before you play. The figures below come from our demo session at a total bet of 12.00.

A Fairy-Tale Castle

The reels sit in a golden frame in front of a green valley with pink-roofed castle towers on both sides. The symbols are the cast of a musketeer story: a moustached musketeer in a lace collar, a blonde princess with a rose, a golden crown, a treasure chest full of jewels and a knight in a steel helmet.

The goblet of the title is the special symbol. Small golden goblets with a blue crest appear among the other symbols, and when the feature hits, a tall goblet fills a whole reel and shows its multiplier.

Scatter Wins Instead of Lines

Every regular symbol is a scatter. A win needs at least seven of the same symbol anywhere on the 15 positions, and the payout climbs with each extra symbol up to twelve or more. Position does not matter, so there are no lines to track – the game simply counts.

With only 15 positions and five regular symbols, seven of a kind is a high bar. It means that about half of the screen has to show the same character, which is why the winning screens in our captures look so uniform: rows of princesses or musketeers with only a few other symbols in between.

After a win the winning symbols disappear and new ones fall into place. CT Interactive classes the game as a cascading slot, so one spin can pay more than once.

The Paytable at a 12.00 Bet

The paytable is printed in cash for the current bet. At 12.00 the musketeer pays 30.00 for seven, 50.00 for eight, 100.00 for nine, 500.00 for ten, 1,000.00 for eleven and 5,000.00 for twelve or more. The princess pays from 12.00 up to 1,000.00, the crown from 9.00 to 500.00, the chest from 8.00 to 250.00 and the knight from 7.00 to 150.00.

The jump at the top is steep. Twelve musketeers pay fifty times as much as nine, so almost all of the game’s value sits in filling the screen with the best symbol.

Converted into multiples of the bet, twelve or more princesses are worth about 83x, twelve crowns about 42x, twelve chests about 21x and twelve knights 12.5x. At the other end, the minimum seven-symbol wins return the stake or less for every symbol except the musketeer: seven knights pay 7.00 and seven chests 8.00 on a 12.00 bet.

How the 5,000x Figure Fits

CT Interactive states the maximum win as 5,000x, and the top paytable entry reads 5,000.00. At our 12.00 bet that entry is about 417x the total bet on its own, before any goblet multiplier. CT usually quotes its maximum wins against a smaller unit than the full bet, so we treat the 5,000x as the studio’s own figure and show both numbers here rather than guess how the two relate.

The Goblet Multiplier

The goblet is what lifts the ordinary wins. In one of our spins a tall goblet filled the fifth reel with an X2 on it, and eight treasure chests that would have paid 9.00 paid 18.00 instead – the game’s own line read “8 x X2 = 18.00”.

In the other winning captures the win line showed no multiplier, so the goblet’s effect is tied to the spins in which it lands. The only multiplier we saw in our session was the x2.

What the Session Paid

Our results show the scale of the paytable well. Ten treasure chests paid 30.00 (2.5x), eight musketeers 50.00 (4.2x), nine princesses 80.00 (6.7x) and nine musketeers 100.00 (8.3x).

The best capture came from eleven princesses, which paid 300.00 – 25x the bet – and took the balance to 100,284 credits.

Most of these wins came from eight to eleven matching symbols. That is the range where the paytable starts to return more than the bet, and it is what a typical good spin looks like in this game: a screen dominated by one character, with the other symbols scattered around it.

Gamble Feature

CT Interactive lists a gamble feature, and SlotCatalog describes it as a double-or-nothing risk game. After several of our wins a blue x2 button lit up next to the win field – that is the way into the gamble. We did not use it in our session, so we cannot describe its limits.

Who Should Play It

The Magic Goblet suits players who like scatter-pays games with a simple rule set: count the symbols, watch for the goblet and hope the musketeers line up. The medium-high volatility shows in the paytable, where modest wins are common and the big jumps need eleven or twelve of a kind.
