Travel Through Time OverviewTravel Through Time is a KA Gaming slot built on a three-by-three grid with 18 paylines, which is an unusual number for a board this small – and the game makes a point of it, printing 18 LINES in tall yellow letters down the glass panels on either side of the reels. The premise is a machine that pulls objects out of their own century. The symbols are a rotary telephone, a pocket watch, a smartwatch and a smartphone, sitting together on the same three reels. Theme and GraphicsThe base game looks out onto a European street under a pale sky – domed rooftops in the distance, strings of lights above the road, wooden barrels stacked against a wall. The reel frame is a brass-and-steel apparatus bolted into the middle of the view, as though the machine had been dropped into the street rather than built there. Trigger the bonus and the whole setting changes: the street is gone and the reels are inside a laboratory, two scientists in white coats working at consoles on either side, world maps glowing on the screens behind them. The grid widens at the same moment – two columns of blue light open up where the yellow lettering used to be. The symbol art follows the same conceit. Two character portraits – a dark-haired man in a jacket and a blonde woman – sit above four objects drawn from four different eras, each photographed rather than illustrated. The logo itself is the scatter, rendered as blue chrome lettering on a dark plate. Eighteen Lines on Nine PositionsThree reels by three rows gives nine positions, and every winning combination is therefore three of a kind. All figures below come from demo play at a 270.00 total bet, which divides into eighteen lines at 15.00 apiece. Eighteen lines across nine cells means the paths overlap heavily, and a single spin regularly connects on several at once. The demo shows this repeatedly: one screenshot announces a 375.00 line win while the total in the WIN box reads 750.00, because two separate lines landed the same combination. Another shows a 75.00 line win against a 225.00 total – three lines paying at once. Symbols and PaytableThe paytable is short, as it must be on a three-reel game – seven symbols, two prize levels each. At the 270.00 stake the wild leads at 15,000.00 for three and 300.00 for two. The man pays 4,500.00 / 75.00, the woman 1,500.00 / 45.00. The four objects fill the bottom: the smartphone at 750.00 for three, the rotary telephone at 375.00, the smartwatch at 150.00 and the pocket watch at 75.00. Divide those by the 15.00 line bet and the ladder is strikingly clean: 1,000x, 300x, 100x, 50x, 25x, 10x and 5x per line. Every rung is a round number, and each step down is a halving or a third – no awkward values anywhere in the table. It is the sort of paytable a designer writes first and then builds the maths around. A Two-Hundred-Fold SpreadThe spread between the top and the bottom of that table is worth dwelling on. The pocket watch pays 5x the line bet for a full three-of-a-kind; the wild pays 1,000x. That is a two-hundred-fold gap between the cheapest winning spin and the most expensive one, on a game where both take exactly the same three symbols to assemble. So the base game’s object symbols are, on a single line, close to break-even results. It takes two or three lines connecting at once – which the eighteen-line layout makes routine – before an ordinary spin is genuinely profitable. That is a deliberate design, and it is why the demo’s screenshots so often show a line figure and a total that differ by a factor of two or three. The WildThe wild is a glowing blue capsule marked WILD, and at 1,000x the line bet for three it is fifteen times more valuable than the highest-paying character and two hundred times the cheapest object. In the demo it appears in both halves of the game. One base-game screenshot catches it completing a row alongside two portraits of the woman for a 1,545.00 total; another, inside the free games, shows two wilds on the grid at once during a round that had accumulated 3,915.00. The paytable does not hedge it. There is no separate wild multiplier and no restriction to particular reels What the paytable does not do is hedge it. There is no separate wild multiplier, no expanding behaviour, no restriction to particular reels. It substitutes, it pays on its own, and its value is entirely in that top row. ndash; it substitutes, it pays on its own, and in the base game its value is entirely in that top row. The free games give it a second job, which the next section covers.Free Games: Three Reels Become FiveThree logo scatters anywhere on the grid trigger the round, and the demo catches the trigger spin with the logo landing on all three reels among the watches. The award screen that follows is unambiguous: YOU WON 8 FREE GAMES. It is a genuinely unusual piece of design. Most slots keep the layout fixed and change what lands on it; this one changes the board. The 2X Bonus ReelsIn the demo both bonus reels show a dark orb marked 2X, one to the left of the three original reels and one to the right, with FREE GAME running vertically past them. The arithmetic on screen shows what two of them do at once. One free spin announces a 150.00 line win while the WIN box reads 600.00 – four times the line figure, from a single winning combination. Two 2X multipliers applied in sequence give x4, and that is exactly what the game pays. That round’s running total stood at 3,915.00 at the time, and a capture from another round shows 5,115.00 accumulated. Against the 270.00 stake that is just under nineteen times the bet from eight spins – and it arrived without the wild’s top combination appearing once. The bonus reels also supply wilds, and the demo shows two on the grid at the same moment during one of these rounds. A wild arriving from the first or fifth reel is worth more than one landing in the middle, because whatever it completes then passes through the multipliers beside it. RTP, Volatility and Max WinThe RTP is 96%, squarely at the modern standard, and volatility is rated Medium-Low. KA Gaming does not publish a maximum win multiplier for this title, so that field is left empty here rather than guessed at. Medium-Low fits what the reels do. Eighteen overlapping lines on nine positions produce a win on a large share of spins, but four of the seven symbols pay 50x the line bet or less, so many of those wins land under the stake. The upside sits in the wild’s row and in eight free games played on a wider board with two multipliers running – enough to lift a round to nineteen times the bet, and not the kind of structure that produces five-figure ceilings.
