Roma Reborn is a gladiator slot from Funky Games, released on 20 November 2025. It plays on a 5x3 grid with 20 fixed lines, returns 96% and takes bets from 0.40 to 160. The top prize is 10,000x the bet. Tumbling symbols build a combo meter, a blood-drop counter unlocks free spins, and a bonus game sends you into the arena against a lion.

The Arena

The reels sit inside a marble frame on the sand of a Roman amphitheatre, with the crowd and the arches of the Colosseum behind them. A gladiator in gold armour leans over the top of the frame, sword and shield ready, and reacts to what happens on the grid. The layout is built for portrait screens: the reels fill the middle, the balance, win and stake run across the bottom, and a large spin button sits under them.

The top bar carries the three things worth watching. On the left is the 20 LINES plaque, in the middle a row of seven blood drops, and on the right a burning ring that shows how many free spins are left. In the bottom right corner is the EXTRA MODE switch.

The Paytable

The symbols are the golden warrior mask, a red and gold crown, a roaring lion, crossed swords, a round shield, a bronze cup and a bunch of grapes. The laurel-wreathed woman is the WILD and the Colosseum is the BONUS. In credits, the game rules list:

Warrior mask – 8,000 / 1,200 / 120
Crown – 4,000 / 800 / 120
Lion – 1,600 / 400 / 80
Swords – 960 / 240 / 80
Shield – 600 / 120 / 40
Cup and grapes – 240 / 80 / 40

Those are the five, four and three of a kind values. Against the maximum stake of 160 they work out at 50x for five masks, 25x for five crowns, 10x for the lion, 6x for the swords, 3.75x for the shield and 1.5x for the cup and grapes. Per line – 8 credits at that stake – five masks are worth 1,000 times the line bet.

Tumbles And The Combo Counter

Winning symbols disappear and new ones fall into the gaps, so one paid spin can pay several times. Each drop is labelled COMBO 1, COMBO 2 and so on in the middle of the reels, with the amount underneath. In our screenshots single combo steps paid 200, 440, 800 and 1,480 credits, and the totals in the win box climbed to 1,560 and 2,566 – roughly 10x and 16x the 160 stake from ordinary line hits.

In one of those rounds the first three reels were completely covered by glowing golden blocks while a splash of blood crossed the screen. The combo underneath paid 800 and the round total stood at 2,566.

Blood Drops And Free Spins

The seven blood drops in the top bar are the free spins meter: consecutive wins in the same round fill them one by one. Our screenshots caught the meter with two of seven drops filled, and the burning ring on the right counting down 3, then 1, then 0 spins.

The balance is the giveaway that these really are free rounds. Across three consecutive screenshots taken during the countdown it stayed at exactly 9,999,104 while the reels kept paying – nothing was deducted for those spins.

Extra Mode Costs 20%

The EXTRA MODE switch in the bottom right was ON in every one of our screenshots, and the stake field read 192 – not a value the bet ladder offers. The game’s maximum bet is 160, and 160 plus a fifth is exactly 192. Extra Mode is therefore a +20% surcharge on whatever you are betting, in exchange for needing fewer consecutive wins before the free spins arrive. The paytable values stay tied to the base stake, which is why they divide so cleanly into 160 rather than into 192.

Into The Arena: The Bonus Game

Three or more Colosseum symbols start the bonus. Our screenshot caught four of them lighting up across the bottom row and the first reel while the free spins ring showed 0. The screen then announces BONUS GAME – ATTACK OR DEFEND? CHOOSE YOUR WEAPON! under a lion’s head carved into the temple wall.

What follows is a duel. The gladiator stands with his back to you and a lion crouches on the sand opposite; a health bar with three segments sits at the top of the screen. Three identical gold orbs appear along the bottom with the prompt “Choose Your Orb | Time : 4s” – you have four seconds to pick one.

The orb reveals the weapon and its multiplier. In our round it opened on a single sword at 6x, the screen read “Attack Successful” and paid 960.00 – exactly six times the 160 base stake. The running bonus total went from 320 to 2,560, and the prompt changed to “Let’s Battle!” for the next round. The health bar is the limit: the duel continues while the gladiator survives, and a failed choice costs a segment.

What The Bet Changes

All the credit values above scale with the stake. Our screenshots were taken at the 160 maximum with Extra Mode on. At the 0.40 minimum everything is 400 times smaller: five warrior masks pay 20 and a 6x bonus orb is worth 2.40 – and Extra Mode costs eight cents a spin instead of 32 credits.

More From Funky Games

Funky Games likes a bonus you play rather than watch. Big Bang Boxing runs the same pick-and-fight idea in a boxing ring, and Gems of Zeus stays in the ancient world with a cascading grid. Golden Sun Aztec shows the studio’s tumbling engine on a different theme.

Who It Is For

Roma Reborn is for players who want something to do in the bonus. The base game is a straightforward 20-line tumbler with a modest paytable – five of the best symbol pays 50x – so almost all of the 10,000x potential sits in the free spins and the arena duel. The blood-drop meter gives every combo a visible purpose, and Extra Mode lets you pay a fifth more to get there sooner.
