A Candy Land Made Of Jelly

The game is set in a soft pastel world. Green hills roll into the distance with a small castle on top, the sky is light blue, and huge shiny bubbles in pink, orange and blue float around the edges of the screen. The reels sit in a thick orange frame shaped like a rounded cross – the first and last reels are one position shorter than the three in the middle – and the words “2000 Ways” run down both sides.

Every symbol is a translucent piece of jelly with a fruit or shape set inside it, a bit like a gummy sweet. The high symbols are a strawberry, a kiwi slice, a watermelon slice and grapes. The low symbols are an orange heart, a blue flower, a purple striped cube, a green clover and a yellow cube. A rainbow jelly marked SCATTER completes the set.

The controls follow KA Gaming’s usual layout: win, total bet, New Bet, a round spin button, Max Bet and the balance along the bottom, with a header above the reels that shows the wins of the current spin.

Counting The Ways

The 2,000 comes from multiplying the reel heights: 4 × 5 × 5 × 5 × 4. A win is also calculated by multiplying – the number of matching symbols on each reel from the left – and our screenshots add up perfectly.

Three yellow cubes on the first reel, one on the second and one on the third make 3 × 1 × 1 = 3 ways of three at $15: $45. Two green clovers, then one, then two make 4 ways at $15: $60.

The best example is the purple striped cube. Two landed on each of the first four reels and one on the fifth: 2 × 2 × 2 × 2 × 1 = 16 ways of five at $150 each, and the header read “Wins $2,400” – 8x the bet from one of the cheapest symbols in the game. That is the power of a ways slot: several copies on every reel can turn a low symbol into a big win.

Tumbles And The Multiplier Ladder

After every win the jellies that paid disappear, and new ones drop into the gaps, so a single spin can produce a chain of wins. On the left of the reels a ladder of four jelly blocks shows the multiplier for those tumbles: 1x, 2x, 3x and 5x. The 1x block is lit at the start, and the ladder moves up as a cascade keeps going.

One of our screenshots shows it in action: the 2x block is lit, and the header reads “Wins $300.00 (2X)” – a cascade win with the 2x multiplier applied. The bottom win meter had already reached $450 for the whole spin, showing how the tumbles pile up.
