Crystal Clusters Overview

Crystal Clusters is a BGaming cluster-pays game on a seven-by-seven grid – forty-nine positions – with a paytable running to eleven separate bands for every symbol, from five matching crystals up to fifteen or more.

Its multiplier plates are the part worth studying, and the game shows its working clearly enough that every figure below can be checked against the screen.

Theme and Graphics

The base game is set inside a timber-framed mine gallery: rough planks and steel brackets around the grid, an oil lantern hanging on the right, and clusters of raw blue crystal growing out of the rock at the corners. A green BUY BONUS plate is nailed to the frame on the left.

Trigger the feature and the walls turn to lava-veined black rock, the timber gone, with molten light seeping through the cracks. It is a genuine change of place rather than a colour filter.

Eleven Bands

Clusters pay from five symbols, and the table gives a separate value for every size from five to fourteen, with a final band at fifteen or more.

At the 7.00 stake the gold nugget runs: 1,050.00 for fifteen or more, 490.00 for fourteen, 245.00 for thirteen, 105.00 for twelve, 52.50 for eleven, 35.00 for ten, 17.50 for nine, 14.00 for eight, 12.25 for seven, 10.50 for six and 7.00 for five.

Against the bet that is 150x at the top and 1x at the bottom. The blue crystal follows at 700.00 down to 5.25, the orange at 420.00 down to 3.50, and the purple at 280.00 down to 2.80.

Read the steps on the nugget rather than the values. Five to six is a fifty percent rise. Six to ten roughly triples it. Ten to twelve triples it again. And twelve to fifteen multiplies by ten.

So on a forty-nine-cell grid, the difference between a fourteen-symbol cluster and a fifteen-symbol one is more than double – and the difference between twelve and fifteen is an order of magnitude. Almost all the value sits in the final three bands.

Eleven bands is also unusual in itself. Most cluster games use three or four, which makes the difference between a nine-symbol cluster and an eleven-symbol one invisible to the player. Here every extra tile moves the prize, and the panel on the left names the count so you can see it happen.

The Multiplier Plates, Verified

Red multiplier plates land on individual positions carrying x2, x4, x6 or x8, and they apply to clusters that touch them. The demo prints a breakdown panel down the left-hand side, and it makes the arithmetic checkable.

Work through it. A six-symbol cluster worth 2.80 carrying an x8 pays 22.40 – exactly eight times. A six-symbol cluster of a different gem carrying an x6 pays 21.00, which is six times its 3.50 base. And 10.50 is six times the 1.75 listed beneath it.

Every line reconciles. The plates multiply the cluster value and nothing else happens in between – and a single board can carry several different values at once, each applying only to the clusters that touch it.

Multipliers in the Base Game Too

They are not reserved for the feature. One base-game capture at the 10.00 stake shows plates reading x2, x2, x2 and x4 scattered across the grid, with a breakdown of 6 ×4 – 30.00; 7 – 4.00; 6 – 7.50; 7 – 3.00 and a total of 64.50.

The same check holds: a six-cluster worth 7.50 at the 10.00 stake, multiplied by four, gives 30.00. And 7.50 is precisely what the paytable’s 5.25 becomes when the bet moves from 7.00 to 10.00 – the table scales with the stake exactly.

That matters more than it sounds. It means the paytable figures quoted above are multiples of whatever you happen to be betting, not fixed cash, and a small-stakes player gets the same deal as a large one.

The demo follows the round from spin 4 to spin 10: 6.30 at spin 4, 80.50 by spin 10. Against the 7.00 stake that is 0.9x rising to 11.5x, with five spins still to run.

What the captures show clearly is that the plates persist. The same positions carry the same values from one capture to the next, which is why a round that starts slowly can build: the board being played on at spin ten is a better board than the one at spin four.

The Buy Bonus

The BUY BONUS plate carries its price, and the demo captures it at two different stakes. At a 7.00 bet it reads 700.00; at a 10.00 bet it reads 1,000.00.

That is 100 times the stake in both cases – the price scales exactly with the bet, so there is no advantage to buying at one stake over another.

A hundred times the bet is steep against a round that had reached 11.5x with five spins left, though the plates accumulate as the round runs and the final figure is not in the captures.
